Kathleen
Montgomery, CCM, General Manager
Kathleen has had the privilege to serve the Members
and hold the leadership role for this exceptional staff
for twelve years. Kathleen is a Certified Club Manager
and a member of the Club Manager’s Association
of America’s Honor
Society. Kathleen is currently the President of the Michigan
Club Manager’s
Association. In Kathleen’s free time she enjoys
traveling, boating, volunteering for local charities,
and cooking. Kathleen resides on Walloon Lake. 2007 marks
Kathleen’s 29th year of commitment to the Club
Industry and feels that the business of Members is a
most rewarding career. “A positive outlook,
continuous improvement and education, and affirmative
growth are paramount in exceeding the expectations of
the Members of BHYC!”

John
Viol, CMA
Controller
John has been
with the Club for over three years. He attended Michigan
State University and received a Bachelors degree in Finance.
John resides with his wife Becky and daughter Lauren in
Horton Bay. John is a Certified Management Accountant.
John has experience in information systems and computer
science and is a member of the Hospitality Financial Technology
Accountants. John’s main-focus at the Club is, “maintaining
a state of the art accounting department and providing
excellent support and services for all the Members”.

Patrick
Fowler, Director of Dining Services
Patrick has worked in the service industry since 1970,
spending 30 years at the Pier in Harbor Springs. He
has served the members of the Club for five seasons.
Patrick enjoys hunting, fishing, boating gardening and mushrooming in his off
hours. Patrick serves as our “expert” mushroom guide on the Annual
Club Mushroom Hunt. He lives in Petoskey with long time friend Leslie.
“There
is nothing I won’t do to make our Members happy”.

Brad
McBride, USPTA
Head Tennis Pro
Brad is taking a break from his Masters' Degree program this summer to head up the Bay Harbor Yacht Club Tennis Programs.
Brad joined the Bay Harbor Yacht Club staff last summer after completing
his Bachelor’s Degree from Ferris State University
for the Professional Tennis Management Program. Upon graduating,
he was a recipient of the Scott Schultz Founder for Excellence
Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to a senior who
helps, encourages, and promotes the development of health,
character, and responsible citizenship through participation
in the sport of tennis.
Originally from Petoskey, in 2002, Brad was part of the
Petoskey High School Varsity Tennis Team who won the Class
B State Championship. Brad’s first college internship
consisted of working at the Walloon Lake Country Club as
an assistant tennis professional for two summers. The
summer of 2006 he completed his second internship as an assistant
tennis professional at the Florida Tennis Center in Daytona
Beach, Florida.
Currently, Brad serves the Bay Harbor Yacht Club as the
Head Tennis Professional. He is excited to offer the members
amenities both on the tennis court as well as with products
and services offered through the tennis pro shop.

James Maclean, Beverage Manager and Wine
Buyer
James has served some of the finest wines and beverages to members for
over eight years. James resides in Harbor Springs. He attended Northern Michigan
University majoring in International Studies. James recently completed his
Introductory Sommelier Course. James spends his free time boating, cycling, surfing
and enjoys visiting Chile, South America for six weeks each year experiencing
the culture and touring area vineyards in search of wonderful wines for the Club.
James lives by the rule that “The Member, who is made to feel important,
feels loyal to the Club”.

Sharyn
Olliffe, CMP,
Director of Membership & Marketing
Sharyn has been with the Club for over thirteen years and has served as Administrative
Assistant, Event Planner and currently the Director of Membership & Marketing.
Sharyn has achieved the first segment of the Certified Marketing Professional
certification. Sharyn resides with her husband Larry and kittens Molly & Katie
on Walloon Lake. Her favorite pass times are boating, gardening and spending
time with her grandchildren. Sharyn believes “The Bay Harbor Yacht
Club is a place where total member satisfaction is the main goal. Personal
service, flawless execution and in-depth experience translate into extraordinary
results. In every situation, our Club team is committed to anticipating and
surpassing the expectations of our members”.

Holly
Curtis, Director of Housekeeping
Although you might not always see Holly, the work that
she provides is of utmost importance to the Club. Over
the last six years, the polished brass, the shampooed
carpets and the touch up painting is a part of Holly’s commitment to excellence.
Holly lives in Petoskey and has two sons, Charles and Todd. Holly enjoys going
to the beach in the summer, shopping excursions and spending time with her family.
Holly’s main focus at the Club is to offer nice products in the locker
rooms and keeping the Club immaculate for the Members. Holly plans to pursue
her degree in Social Work. “Holly’s staff’s superior service
is our member’s pleasure!”

Jennie Cope, Executive Assistant
Jennie is a life-long resident of Petoskey, where her
family still resides. Jennie graduated from Grand
Valley State University with a Bachelors of Business
Administration. Jennie enjoys spending time with
her husband Rocco as well as her family, traveling,
reading, and taking advantage of the great outdoor
activities of Northern Michigan. “Creating a memorable
experience to all members & guests by providing upbeat,
energetic services.”

Cristina Jamo,
Event Planner
Cristina graduated from Michigan State University (MSU) obtaining a degree in Advertising with a specialization in Public Relations. Her college career included internships in Marketing and Communications, as well as Special Events. She was involved in the MSU Public Relations Student Society of America chapter, and an Executive Board member for the MSU Advertising Association. Cristina enjoys spending time outdoors with friends and family. “BHYC offers a welcoming, exciting atmosphere with quality service to our Members.”

Rod
White, Facilities Manager
Rod has enjoyed overseeing the physical operations of
the Club for eight years. Rod and his staff are responsible
for maintaining the beautiful Clubhouse and surrounding
grounds. Rod has spent over thirty years in the building
trades and is a certified pool operator, and heating
and air conditioning technician. Rod is married to Peggy
and lives in Alanson. Rod enjoys golfing, spending time
in the woods and enjoying time with his six children
and eight grandchildren. “My staff and I take
great pride in the work we do keeping the building and
grounds looking beautiful for our Members.” |

Dan
Flynn,
Executive Chef
Dan has been providing
the members with excellent cuisine for four years. His
commitment to quality is exceptional. Dan received his
culinary training at Grand Rapids Community College.
Dan lives in Charlevoix with his wife Larissa and daughter
Aidan. In Dan’s free time he likes to volunteer
at his daughter’s
school and other community charities. Dan enjoys working
at a Club with “World
Class Amenities and Northern Michigan Hospitality”.
